Utility stores suspend procurement on govt orders

ISLAMABAD: PM’s Adviser on Industries and Production Razak Dawood has ordered Utility Stores Corporation (USC) to suspend purchases in stores.

According to reports, a notification has been issued to Utility Stores Corporation (USC) to suspend all kinds of procurement in the stores.

Suspension of procurement will result in non-availability of products in Utility Stores. Over 14,000 employees of the utility stores corporation have been left in the lurch, after this order from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government. Sources also reveal that the minister wants to privatize the USC.

The closing of utility stores is the first business related measure taken by the PTI government.
