Indian National Congress (INC) Rahul Gandhi has said that he believes that the Indian Army carried out surgical strikes in Pakistan and his party supported such action “100 per cent”, reported by a local media outlet.
Pakistan had denied the Indian claim and told international organisations such as the United Nations (UN) that in case of an “escalating crisis” the responsibility would rest with India.
Gandhi has been known to make controversial remarks in response to questions that require diplomatic serenity.
The Nehru family’s scion, by giving such remarks regarding Pakistan, has moved on to a political territory regarding Pakistan which has traditionally been occupied by the militant and ultra-right Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
