Civilian residents in Rawalpindi and Chaklala are receiving water every third day under “water rationing” despite the fact that Rawal and Kanpur dams have filled up due to monsoon rains, a local media outlet reported on Friday.
The water rationing scheme is expected to continue until work on Kanpur Dam Water Supply Project Phase-III is completed, the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board has said. As such, residents have to pay Rs3000 for water tankers per trip.
