The Senate Standing Committee on Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) was told that Polyclinic used old methods of sterilising instruments that are later used to perform operations.
Committee Chairman Dr Ashok Kumar said, “The outdated method can spread hepatitis, you are spreading hepatitis.”
Hospital officials told the committee that the hospital was unable to provide satisfactory medical care to patients because of lack of space.
They also said that an extension project for the hospital had been stalled due to a stay order.
The committee members said that they would recommend to the court for an early decision.
