Justice Siddiqui removed from bench hearing IK disqualification case

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui on Sunday was removed from the bench formed to hear Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s disqualification case.

He has been replaced with Justice Mian Hassan Aurangzeb on the bench which is due to hear the case. Siddiqui along with and Amir Farooq were part of the original bench that had given the PTI chairman till August 1 to file a reply.

Former chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry had moved the court over Khan’s disqualification in line with the provisions of Article 62. Chaudhry, who now heads a political party, said the PTI had “lied about his daughter Tyrian.” Therefore, he said, Khan was not sadiq and ameen.
