FAISALABAD: An infant, injured in celebratory aerial firing by a winning candidate of a political party, succumbed to her injuries during treatment at Allied Hospital Faisalabad on Monday.
As per the details, one-year-old Zariab was injured during jubilant firing by an unknown winning candidate following the announcement of July 25 election results.
Despite all-out efforts of the doctors, she could not survive and succumbed to the bullet wounds.
The body of the minor girl was handed over to heirs after medico-legal formalities.
A case has been registered at the Ghulam Muhammadabad police station and an investigation is underway.
No arrests had been made till the filing of this report.
