Sarfraz lauds Zimbabwe for honouring Pakistan’s mandate

(Disclaimer: this is a work of fiction. Learn to take a joke; you’ll live longer.)

HARARE – Following the win in the third ODI, skipper of Pakistan cricket team Sarfraz Ahmed on Thursday lauded Zimbabwe for honouring the mandate of a stronger opposition, contrary to what the other underdogs like Afghanistan and Bangladesh tend to do.

Talking about the series victory over Zimbabwe during a press conference here, Sarfraz said, “Zimbabwe have been nice to us. They were not only good hosts but also lost all games to us which is not common for our team in the away tours.”

“Zimbabwe have done what PPP and PTI couldn’t do for Nawaz Sharif in Senate polls,” he added.

On why left-arm spinner Nawaz wasn’t given chance in the first three ODIs, Sarfraz pointed out that whenever Nawaz bowls in the matches, someone in the crowd chants the slogan “Muk gaya tera show Nawaz, go Nawaz go Nawaz,” which disturbs his concentration.

He praised the performances of Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan and others, commenting that “let them enjoy the high point of their careers and wait till we go to South Africa”.

The Pakistan captain was confident that his team could win all world cups in future, including those organised by the FIFA.
