Rodents shred bank notes at ATM in India

NEW DELHI: When technicians arrived to repair a malfunctioning ATM machine in Assam, India they discovered around INR 1.2 million worth of notes shredded into bits.

According to police, rodents entered the machine at the State Bank of India branch in Tinuskia district through a wiring hole and shredded the notes inside.

Images from the scene were widely shared on social media.

The ATM machine was inactive for the past 12 days, say local police.

Still, technicians were able to recover around INR 1.7 million
