Man arrested for breaking ATM and stealing money in Karachi

KARACHI: The Pakistan Bazar police have arrested a man for breaking into an ATM booth, damaging the camera, wiring, and stealing money. The suspect, identified as Niaz, was apprehended after the police analyzed CCTV footage of the crime.

The incident took place on May 4, 2025, when the accused was seen entering the ATM booth and breaking the machine after damaging its surveillance camera and electrical cables. Police recovered a weapon, tools used in the crime, a mobile phone, and cash from the suspect. The arrest came six days after the incident, following a thorough investigation based on the CCTV footage.

A case was registered on the complaint of the bank manager, Muhammad Zafar Aslam, and the investigation is ongoing.
