Over dozen suffer from heatstroke as temperature soars in Nawabshah

NAWABSHAH: Nawabshah and its suburbs remained in the grip of severe hot weather and more than a dozen patients of heatstroke landed at Peoples Medical Hospital for treatment.

The mercury soared to 47 degree Celsius on Wednesday and it was predicted to further soar on Thursday.

The severe heat compelled the citizens to remain under shelter while traffic on roads and business activities in the market till afternoon witnessed thin.

Patients who came to Peoples Medical Hospital were admitted to the heatstroke ward set up by the hospital administration. The patients and attendants complained of lack of air-conditioning in the ward and said that even ceiling fans were out of order. They complained that atmosphere outside of heat stroke ward was more comfortable and airy. Patients demanded hospital administration for installation of air-conditions and repairs of ceiling fans in order to improve the atmosphere of heat stroke ward.
