ISLAMABAD: Lord Nazeer said that ousted prime minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s statement showed that he is trying to sabotage state institutions while India was involved in the Mumbai attacks itself.
The House of Lords member said that no politician should issue a statement like that of Sharif about his own country.
Abdul Basit, Pakistan’s former ambassador to India, said that the ousted prime minister’s statement was regrettable because he issued such a statement even though he was aware of the facts.
Such statements undermine national integrity, added the former ambassador.
In an interview to a local media outlet earlier, Sharif had said that those involved in the 2008 Mumbai attack hailed from Pakistan.
