SC dismisses petition to make ‘news leaks’ report public

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a petition seeking to make Dawn Leaks report public.

The appeal was heard by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar in his chamber after the Registrar Office raised objections on the petition, filed in May 2017 under Article 184 (3), making former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan respondents, by Advocate Sardar Ghazi on behalf of 17 retired military officers.

The chief justice sustained the objections leveled by the registrar office and dismissed the appeal. The registrar office had objected that the petitioner did not approach proper forum.
