Police arrest two perpetrators of acid attack in Sialkot

SIALKOT: Police officers on Wednesday have arrested as many as two suspects for throwing acid on a girl for refusing to marry in Sialkot’s Pakka Garha area, within the vicinity of Muradpur police station.

Wearing a mask, suspect Qasim stormed 20-year-old Afshan’s home and threw acid on her for rejecting a marriage proposal. The acid also wounded the victim’s sisters.

The suspect escaped after the crime however, he and his accomplice Fakhar were later detained during an operation.

The victims, Afshan, eight-year-old Amna, seven-year-old Ayesha and six-year-old Jannat, were immediately shifted to the hospital for medical treatment.

Punjab IG took notice of the incident.
