KARACHI: Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday awarded a man a 35-year imprisonment sentence on the charges of kidnapping and murdering a child.
The ATC judge found Mohsin Butt guilty of abducting a nine-year-old child, demanding ransom for his release and killing him over non-payment.
According to the prosecution, the convict had kidnapped the child within the limits of Napier police station in 2016 and demanded ransom from his family. The child was thrown out of the third floor of a building when his family failed to fulfill the kidnaper’s demand of payment of RS1million.
The judge, pronouncing the verdict, observed that the prosecution successfully established its case beyond any shadow of a doubt.
