LAHORE: The Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr Yao Jing called on the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Punjab House Islamabad today. During the meeting, different matters of mutual interest including the Pakistan-China economic relations, CPEC related initiatives and expansion of mutual cooperation in different sectors came under discussion.
The Chinese ambassador congratulated chief minister Shehbaz Sharif over the court’s verdict for continuing work on the Lahore Orange Line Metro Train (LOLMT) and assured of every possible cooperation for the projects early completion adding that the Chinese companies working on this venture will make organized efforts to complete their assignments as soon as possible.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that the LOLMT will provide world-standard transport facilities to millions of citizens. He said that the project is a gift from the president and prime minister of China to the people of Pakistan and further added that the Chinese leadership has fully supported this project despite hurdles.
Yao Jing said that Pakistan and China’s enduring friendship, close cooperation and a passion of selflessness are an example for the whole world and that this friendship is further expanding with the passage of time. He said that CPEC, which is a mega project of bringing economic resolution, will prove to be a harbinger of economic prosperity for all the countries in the region.
“World peace and prosperity are directly linked with the economic prosperity and the government has worked with complete dedication for bringing prosperity in the life of the common man by the alleviation of poverty, joblessness and economic disparity. Despite countless hurdles, the government has continued the journey of public service; the crisis of load-shedding has been overpowered due to its commitment. Ensuring national development and public prestige are our strong commitments and we are continuously working to achieve this vision,” concluded the chief minister.
