Courts empowered to deal with anyone: CJP

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has said the courts are empowered to deal with anyone, so people with mala fide intention should stop believing that they could start a brawl here [in courts] anytime.

During a hearing of a petition filed by Lahore High Court (LHC) Bar Multan Bench, he dismissed the petition, calling it “inefficient”.

Certain lawyers were trying to destroy the courts for their politics, the CJP said, adding no one will be allowed to destroy the system.

The CJP told the lawyers to send their representatives to the chamber only after taking an appointment as such behaviour and conduct was appropriate.

A small group of lawyers had filed a petition in the SC and demanded it to declare illegal the orders of LHC Chief Justice Mansoor Ali Shah to suspend judicial work at the Multan bench.
