KARACHI: Sindh Assembly on Monday passed two resolutions – one sought the lifting of a ban on student unions in educational institutions of Sindh and another was aimed at commemorating the world science community, especially women and their efforts.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MPA Dr Abdul Sattar Rajpar tabled the resolution seeking the lifting of a ban on student unions in Sindh, which was adopted unanimously by the house. The resolution said: “This house resolves that provincial government lifts the ban on the student unions in educational institutions in the province.”
Another resolution, presented by PPP MPA Iram Khalid said: “The house commemorates the world science community, especially women, and salute their efforts contributing to the provinces and its children’s progress. The house also reiterates the resolve expressed by the Sindh chief minister to set up state-of-the-art science centres and museums in Sindh’s divisional headquarters and urges the Ministry of Information Science and Technology to seek the support of the science community in this regard.”
