KARACHI: A man was killed and his brother injured when they tried to resist robbers in Jauharabad area of the metropolis on Thursday.
According to rescue sources, a gang of three armed robbers riding motorbikes intercepted two brothers, Imran Ahmed Khan and Salman Ahmed Khan, in Jauharabad. The brothers attempted to resist at which the robbers opened fire on them. As a result, Imran died on the spot while Salman sustained injuries.
The police have registered a case against unknown assailants and started investigation.
The body and injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Separately, a robber was injured in an alleged police encounter in Surjani Town area of the city early on Thursday.
According to rescue sources, the robber, Sabeel, 35, son of Khadeem, sustained injuries in the police encounter.
He was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
