Haven’t retired from throwing tantrums, Younis Khan clarifies

MARDAN – After many analysts perceived veteran batsman Younis Khan’s latest snub to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as a ‘comeback to international cricket’ the middle-order batsman has clarified that he never retired from throwing tantrums.

In an exclusive interview with The Dependent, Younis who has turned down PCB’s malicious attempts to give him a proper farewell, corrected ‘those commenting without research’.

“I have retired from playing international cricket, but not from throwing tantrums. These tantrums can cater to any level of cricket from first-class to international,” he said.

“It is important to fact check before accusing others, especially those that have done so much for the country.”

Younis, who has vowed to foil any future plans of the PCB trying to throw in a farewell for him, said that recent years show that he is far from retiring from sulky mood swings.

“Even if you ignore my regular threats of retirement for playing cricket, and even actual announcement from playing cricket, recent years– especially in the domestic circuit – show that I am currently at the peak of my sulky powers,” he said.

“I think I can go on for quite a few years, before I consider coaching,” he said responding to a question.
