CM to compensate people affected by CPEC projects in KP

PESHAWAR: KP CM Pervez Khattak has assured compensation to the affectees of Soki Kanari Dam Naran at Tehsil Balakot in District Mansehra. His government has already directed to the concerned quarters at both provincial and federal level for an accurate evaluation of the land being used in the projects under CPEC so that proper compensation could be given to the affectees.

He was talking to the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf who called on him at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar.  Provincial Minister for Higher Education Mushtaq Ghani and MPAs from Mansehra were also present at the occasion.  The federal minister informed the CM about different issues resulting from CPEC projects.  He said that he will settle down the issue of compensation of the local landlords whose land was being used in the Soki Kanari Dam, a project of the CPEC. He also discussed the developmental activities in Mansehra.

Khattak assured that his government has already directed for a standard procedure to compensate the affectees.

CM ensured that justice will provided to everyone and realistic compensation given to all affectees whose property could be damaged and used in any CPEC related activities.

Regarding the developmental activities including the road communication and water supply schemes in Mansehra, the CM said that his government has allocated reasonable resources under the developmental strategy for all districts of the province, adding that Mansehra would get its share as per the distribution formula laid down for the development of all districts of the province.
