Heatstroke centres set up in Karachi

KARACHI: Rangers have, on Saturday, built heat stroke centres at different points in Karachi, and certified doctors along with other medical staff have been appointed in these camps.

The areas where heat stroke camps have been built include Pakistan Chowk, SITE area, Orangi Town, Kati Pahari, Allah Wala Chowk and Gulshan-e-Bahar.

People are visiting these camps in big numbers, which are open for medical aid for everybody. Furthermore, ambulance, water tanks, air coolers and medicines are available at the heat stroke centres.

Let it be known that extended load shedding in Karachi is also one of the reasons of heat strokes. The city has also been under the menace of load shedding since the beginning of Ramzan, and the authorities have not been able to fully restore the power. On the other hand, Karachi is also going through the scarcity of water.

Prolonged power outages in the scorching heat of summer also forced people to stage protests against K-Electric and government. The infuriated locals stormed K-Electric’s office in Gulistan Johar earlier and damaged the property.
