Punjab Chief Minister Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high level meeting in which numerous matters regarding Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park project were reviewed. Addressing the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif said that the Punjab government has planned to establish this park over thousands of acres to promote industrial, commercial and economic activities in the province. Its completion will promote textile and garments’ sector which will have a positive impact on the economy, he added.
Expressing displeasure over the slow progress in the project, the chief minister said that no further delay regarding the project will be acceptable. He said that time has already been wasted and that no room for further delay in the project is affordable; therefore, the project must be completed promptly.
He said that the completion of development projects with transparency, speed and standard are hallmarks of Punjab government and the same should be maintained in this project, as well. Provincial Minister for Industries Sheikh Alauddin, Arif Saeed, chief secretary, secretary industry, consultants and other concerned officials attended the meeting while Chairman Planning & Development participated in the meeting through a video link.
