Airports privatization case: IHC removes allegations, directs to fix petition for hearing

 

Islamabad High Court (IHC) while removing the allegations on petition regarding the privatization of three important airports of the Pakistan directed to fix the petition for hearing on Monday.

Shahid Orakzai, a resident of Islamabad, approached IHC against the privatization of three important airports of the Pakistan included Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, Allama Iqbal International Airport and the new Islamabad International Airport.

Petitioner while challenging the process of outsourcing of management of three said airports took stance in his plea that these three important airports controlled the 80 per cent air traffic of the country.

He said that the government did not take approval from the federal cabinet for privatization.

It is vital to mention here that registrar leveled allegation on the petition stating that this was not concerned forum for this petition however Justice Athar Minallah of IHC removed the allegation and directed to fix the petition for hearing.
