SEHWAN: The Sindh government has failed to provide adequate security measures at the Shrine of Laal Shehbaz Qalandar despite the recent terrorist attack which claimed nearly 90 lives.
The walk-through metal detector gate installed at the entrance for female devotees has been discovered to be in a state of disrepair.
Devotees of the Sufi saint have been pouring into the shrine despite the bombing, both to pay their respects and to show their solidarity with the victims of the attack. However the careless attitude of the government is an invitation for terror outfits to carry out further attacks.
When confronted regarding the questionable security measures taken in Sehwan, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah revealed that there were no lady police constables present at the shrine to monitor the situation at the gate for females. However he did assure the media that the walk-through gates would be repaired soon.
