PM Nawaz shortens Karachi trip after Lahore blast

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif shortened his trip to Karachi and would leave for Lahore in the wake of Monday’s terrorist attack that killed 14 people and injured over 100 near Punjab Assembly.

The prime minister is expected to chair a meeting on law and order situation in Lahore.

PM Nawaz arrived in Karachi on Tuesday to witness the Multinational Naval Exercise AMAN-17 in the Arabian Sea.

During the visit, PM Sharif was to preside over a high-level meeting at the Sindh Governor House to discuss the overall situation in the province. He was also to be briefed on progress related to the Green Line Mass Transit, Lyari Expressway, Karachi Circular Railway and Karachi Water Supply Plant projects, Radio Pakistan reported.
