LDA cracks down on nine marriage halls

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) started an operation against illegal marriage halls in Gulshan-e-Ravi area of Lahore on Sunday.

In the operation, the LDA sealed nine marriage halls because of unapproved architectural designs, and another under-construction building was demolished in the locality’s C-block.

According to LDA sources, these marriage halls were built on blue prints which were for domestic purposes. The inappropriate design neglected the idea of parking spaces—as it is established that marriage halls need parking spaces in case of any event—and was creating hurdles in the flow of traffic.

The sealed halls included: Paradise Wedding Hall, Akbar-e-Azam, Zareen Mehel, Aaqa Marriage Hall, Dulhan Marriage Hall, Noor Mehel Wedding Hall, New Shenshahi Marriage Hall, Decent Marriage Hall, and Grand Marriage Hall.
