ISLAMABAD: Good news for the employees of Sindh Governor House/Secretariat is that Chief Minister has approved record raise in the rates of Governor’s House Allowance, effective from December 2016.
“With the approval of the Competent Authority i.e. the chief minister, Government of Sindh has been pleased to enhance the rates of Governor’s House Allowance in respect of 553 employees working in the Governor House/Secretariat with effect from December 1, 2016,” said an office memorandum issued by the Sindh Finance Department on Thursday.
“According to details of recent historic enhancement of Governor’s House Allowance, an official with BPS 18 will take house allowance of Rs100, 000, while an official with BPS 19 will earn Rs Rs200, 000, and an official with BPS 20 will take Rs Rs250, 000 under the head house allowance. Similarly, an official with BPS 21 will get Rs300, 000 house allowance”, said an available copy of the office memorandum.
Similarly, a rise of Rs4, 000 has been made in the allowance of employees with BPS 1 to BPS 3, Rs6, 000 for the employees with BPS 4 to BPS 7, Rs10, 000 from BPS 8 to BPS 10, Rs15,000 for BPS 11 to BPS 15, Rs20,000 for BPS 16 to BPS 17.

Interestingly, record raise has been made in the allowances of officials of BPS 18, BPS 19, BPS 20, and BPS 21, while a nominal increase in the allowance for lower cadre employees of Sindh Governor House/ Secretariat is done by Sindh CM.
It is also learnt that the CM Murad Ali Shah while approving the historic raise in the house allowance of employees of Sindh Governor House has made an increase starting from Rs1, 000 up to Rs2, 400.
Sindh Secretary to Govt. Syed Hasan Naqvi issued the office memorandum on February 1, 2017, which, however, will be effective from December 2016.
