Sindh apex committee concerned over surge in street crime

Maula Buksh Chandio has declared street crimes as terrorists’ nursery, saying that law enforcement agencies are actively carrying out operations against street crimes.

Sindh chief minister (CM) chaired Apex Committee meeting, which was attended by governor, core commander Karachi, DG Rangers, IG Sindh and officers of Intelligence Agencies.

CM was briefed over statistics of street crimes in Karachi, on which he expressed regret that what was the police doing as people were being looted in day time.

CM gave the task to Additional-IG Karachi to eliminate street crimes from city, saying that we must get rid of street crimes on immediate basis. Besides, military training of 4000 police personnel, installation of 10000 new cameras and to restore illegal occupation of government lands from influential people were mainly discussed in the meeting.

Talking to media after the meeting, Maula Buksh Chandio said that Apex committee decided during meeting to eliminate street crimes from the city immediately and to arrest people involved in such crimes.
