According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, nearly 2/3rd (67%) Pakistanis cite “Army” as an institution that has made Pakistan proud followed by Ulema (21%), Sportsmen (19%), while Politicians were cited at only 7%.
A national representative sample of men and women from across all provinces were asked, “Please tell, which of the following institutions has made Pakistan proud in the last 69 years? (Multiple responses allowed)” In response to this question, 7% said politicians, 67% said the army, 21% said ulema, 19% said sportsmen, 11% said media, 6% said the judiciary, 16% said academics (like teachers, professors), and 2% said government servants.
