The Sindh High Court (SHC) Thursday issued orders to Sindh Police Inspector General and Director General Excise and Taxation authorities to ensure immediate closure of all liquor shops in Sindh, effective immediately.
The SHC also ruled that licences issued to all liquor shops be cancelled and wine shops be closed today.
Representatives of Christian, Hindu and Sikh communities have also the opposed sale of wine. The courtroom resonated with applause after the court’s decision, the media reported.
