The Punjab Education Department on Sunday announced that all educational institutions in Punjab will observe summer vacations before scheduled time.
All the government and private schools will remain closed from May 24 till August 15 in the wake of extremely hot weather in the province, the department said in a statement.
Provincial Education Minister Rana Mashhood said that the government cannot comprise on the health of children. Nevertheless, the schools which are undergoing examination will remain open.
