Punjab government sends 200 Elite Force personnel to Islamabad
The Punjab government has dispatched 200 personnel of Elite Force in Islamabad upon the request of the Interior Ministry.
The Elite Force team will take charge of their duties from today (Friday) to boost security measures in the federal capital.
As many as nine vehicles of Elite Force have also been sent along with 200 personnel. The personnel have been divided into 24 teams out of which one team would perform the administrative duties.
According to the sources, following the Islamabad fruit market explosion, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan pledged to deploy Punjab Police and Rangers in Islamabad.
