Punjab Minister for Counter-Terrorism Sardar Muhammad Ayub Khan said despite limited resources, the Elite Force has achieved unprecedented victories against criminals. He was addressing the participants in 18th passing-out parade of the Elite Force, on Tuesday.
The minister congratulated the officers for their consistent hard work, saying due to their dedication, the department got true recognition which was dreamt 19 years ago on the inauguration of the department.
As many as 506 officers and officials participated in the 18th passing-out parade, 410 of which belonged to the Punjab Police, while 96 officials were from prisons department.
The trained officials exhibited their expertise in firing, physical and technical skills and counter-terrorism attacks.
Punjab Police Inspector General Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera said the Elite Force acted like a double-edged sword against criminals. The Elite Police Training School maintains such high standards that whenever any force in the province needs state-of-the-art training, it always become the first choice.
Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab, Jahangir Khanzada, Additional IGP Establishment Punjab, Capt (r) Arif Nawaz, Additional IGP Operations Punjab, Mohsin Hassan Butt, Commandant Elite Police Training School, Major Ali Nawaz Janjua and other senior police officers were also present on the occasion.
Later, the best performing officers and officials of 6-month training course were awarded prizes and certificates.
