Remembering the freedom fighter

Pakistan Workers Party and civil society members gathered at Shadman Chowk to mark the death anniversary of freedom fighter, Bhagat Singh who was executed by British Raj on March 23, some 83 years ago.

Speaking on the occasion, leader of the Pakistan Workers Party, Farooq Tariq said that Bhagat Singh was regarded as martyr by Sikhs, Hindus and Muslims. He said that Bhagat Singh was hanged at the Shadman Chowk which was included in the premises of present camp jail during the British rule.

The members of civil society and workers party demanded the government to declare Shadman Chowk as Bhagat Singh chowk as a tribute to the sacrifice of freedom fighter.
