The Awami National Party (ANP) and the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) have agreed to field joint candidates for the by-elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
ANP leader Ghulam Ahmad Bilour visited the house of JUI-F leader Akram Khan Durrani on Sunday and discussed the arrangements.
According to insiders, it was agreed that the party which won the seat in the general elections would have right to field its candidate. In other cases, the party whose candidate secured the second position would be supported to nominate its candidate.
On this occasion, Akram Khan Durrani said contacts have been established with PPP and ANP for contesting the by-polls.
In May 11 elections, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf defeated the ANP, the JUI-F, the Pakistan People’s Party and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in KP.
