Cellular services would remain suspended during Friday prayer timings in Karachi on orders of Interior Minister Rehman Malik, a private TV channel reported.
According to the reports, the services would remain closed from 12 pm to 3 pm in the metropolis.
Rehman Malik said that the services were closed due to prevailing security threat.
On Thursday several people were killed in different incidents across the city.
