Teachers press for unpaid PSER dues

Government school teachers deployed for the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry survey in Attock have appealed to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and the district administration to secure payment of salaries they say have been pending for January and February.

The teachers said they were engaged for the PSER exercise after receiving formal training and were told they would be paid in full for 60 days of service. They said payments were made only up to December 2025, and those disbursements also carried deductions of about Rs3,000 under taxation.

Teachers allege unequal treatment

The survey was launched by the Punjab government in October 2025, with government school teachers working alongside privately hired staff. The affected teachers said privately recruited survey workers had already been paid, while payments to government school teachers were being held back on the grounds that the provincial government had not yet approved the relevant bills.

They said they had completed the assigned work with diligence and in line with prescribed targets, arguing that non-payment for work already performed was unfair and contrary to the assurances given before field operations began.

District manager expects funds soon

Responding to the complaints, PSER District Manager Attock Inamullah Khan said payment cheques had already reached several districts, including Okara, and added that he expected Attock to receive its allocation soon.
