Naqvi welcomes foreign investment, assures full facilitation to investors

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday reaffirmed the government's commitment to attracting foreign investment, assuring that investors would receive every possible facilitation to capitalize on Pakistan's vast economic opportunities.

The assurance came during a meeting with British House of Lords member Lord Zamir Choudrey, where the two sides discussed investment prospects and regional stability, according to state-run Pakistan Television (PTV).

Naqvi said Pakistan offered immense potential for investment and that the government remained committed to creating a business-friendly environment for both local and international investors.

Highlighting Pakistan's diplomatic efforts, the interior minister said the country was continuing its initiatives to promote lasting peace in the region. "God willing, our efforts will yield positive results this time as well," he said.

Lord Zamir Choudrey commended Pakistan's role in advancing regional peace and stability, praising the efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

He also appreciated the government's investor-friendly policies, saying they were creating greater opportunities for foreign investment in Pakistan.

CPEC Secretariat to procure bulletproof Toyota Land Cruiser

Meanwhile, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Secretariat has decided to procure a bulletproof Toyota Land Cruiser at a cost of Rs95 million to enhance security arrangements for Chinese nationals working on CPEC-related projects.

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal said the vehicle was being acquired solely to ensure the protection of Chinese nationals, whose security remained the government's foremost responsibility. He noted that Chinese personnel, owing to heightened security risks, were not permitted to travel in non-bulletproof vehicles.

The new vehicle will be added to the existing fleet of bulletproof vehicles and helicopters deployed by various government departments for the security of Chinese nationals across the country.
