ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will return to England for a five-match one-day international series in May 2027, according to a Pakistan Cricket Board announcement issued on Thursday.

The PCB said the series will begin in Southampton on May 15 and conclude in Cardiff on May 26. The remaining fixtures are scheduled for Manchester on May 19, Leeds on May 21 and Chester-le-Street on May 23.

The board said the ODI series is expected to help both teams prepare for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, which is due to be held in October and November in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. It added that Pakistan are currently fifth in the ICC men’s ODI rankings, while England are placed seventh.

Pakistan’s men’s side is currently in the West Indies for a two-match Test series. After that assignment, the team will travel to England again for a three-match Test series running from August 19 to September 13, the PCB said. The board also noted that Pakistan’s last ODI tour of England came in 2021, when Babar Azam finished as the leading run-scorer in the three-match series with 177 runs, including an innings of 158 in the third match.
