Pakistan to play five ODIs in England ahead of 2027 World Cup
Pakistan will tour England in May 2027 for a five-match ODI series, the PCB has announced. The fixtures will serve as preparation for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will return to England in May 2027 for a five-match One-Day International series as both sides build towards the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup later that year, according to an announcement by the Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday.
The tour will open in Southampton on May 15 before moving to Manchester for the second match on May 19. The remaining fixtures are scheduled for Leeds on May 21, Chester-le-Street on May 23 and Cardiff on May 26.
The PCB said the series is intended to help the two teams prepare for the 2027 World Cup, which is due to be staged in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia from October 4 to November 21, 2027. Pakistan are currently fifth in the ICC men’s ODI rankings, while England are seventh.
Before that limited-overs tour, Pakistan are also due in England next month for a three-Test series running from August 19 to September 13. Pakistan’s previous ODI series in England came in 2021, when Babar Azam was the top run-getter with 177 runs, including an innings of 158 in the third ODI.
