Shutdown to be observed in IIOJK tomorrow on Kashmir Martyrs’ Day
All Parties Hurriyat Conference has called for a complete shutdown in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow for Kashmir Martyrs’ Day, honoring 22 martyrs killed on July 13, 1931, and urging a march to Naqshband Sahib.

SRINAGAR: Despite threats from the Indian BJP regime and its forces, a complete shutdown will be observed in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow to mark Kashmir Martyrs’ Day.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the call for the strike has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and is supported by all pro-freedom leaders and organizations to commemorate the martyrdom of 22 Kashmiris who were killed by the forces of the Dogra ruler on July 13, 1931.
The APHC has also asked the people of the occupied territory to march toward the Martyrs’ Graveyard at Naqshband Sahib in Srinagar to offer Fateha for the departed souls. These martyrs are buried at this graveyard.
It is worth mentioning that thousands of people had assembled outside Srinagar Central Jail on July 13, 1931, during court proceedings against Abdul Qadeer, who had asked the people to defy Dogra rule. At the time of Namaz-e-Zuhr, a young man started the Azaan and was shot dead by Dogra soldiers. Another took his place and was also martyred by the troops. In this way, 22 youth lost their lives before the completion of the Azaan.
APHC leaders, in their statements in Srinagar, said that the sacred blood of these martyrs ignited the candle of freedom in Jammu and Kashmir. They said the sacrifices of the Kashmiri martyrs will not be allowed to go to waste and that the ongoing struggle for freedom of Jammu and Kashmir will be taken to its logical conclusion.
Meanwhile, posters circulated on social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, and WhatsApp, paying tribute to the martyrs of July 13, 1931, and other martyrs have called for a complete shutdown in the occupied territory.
