-- Deputy Director Land transferred as sources claim asset probe underway; ECL placement on cards

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued transfer and posting orders for several officers, directing their immediate implementation.

According to official notifications, the responsibilities of several officers have been reassigned. Municipal Magistrate Sardar Muhammad Asif has been repatriated to his parent department, the Local Government and Rural Development Department of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, after completing his deputation tenure. He has been relieved from the CDA and struck off its strength, while the relevant departments have been directed to issue his No Demand Certificate (NDC). The orders were issued with the approval of the CDA Chairman.

In a separate notification, Deputy Director Nazir Ahmed has been transferred from the Land and Rehabilitation Directorate and directed to report to the Human Resource Development (HRD) Directorate.

Meanwhile, Assistant Director Riaz Khan has been appointed as Deputy Director-I, Land and Rehabilitation, under the Office Procedure System (OPS). He previously served as Deputy Director (Law) and also held the additional charge of Labour Relations.

The CDA administration has directed that all transfer and posting orders take effect immediately. The concerned officers have been instructed to submit their charge assumption and relinquishment reports to the HRD Directorate. According to the notification, the orders were issued with the approval of the Member Administration, CDA.

According to CDA sources, a forensic audit has been ordered into all land allotments and cases processed during the tenure of former Deputy Director Land-I Chaudhry Nazir. The sources further claim that an inquiry into his assets has also been initiated.

The sources also claim that Chaudhry Nazir has been preparing to leave the country with his family and that his name is likely to be placed on the Exit Control List (ECL). However, neither the CDA nor any other government authority has officially confirmed the reported asset inquiry or his possible inclusion on the ECL.
