VIDEO: Homeowner catches burglars and turns them into duct-tape bunnies
After alleged repeated break-ins, an Indonesian homeowner joined neighbors for a late-night stakeout and restrained four suspected burglars with duct tape. The arrest video sparked debate online.

This homeowner didn't just catch four suspected burglars.
He turned them into duct-tape bunnies.
After allegedly suffering repeated break-ins that he says police failed to stop, the Indonesian homeowner decided enough was enough. Instead of installing another lock, he reportedly teamed up with neighbours, organised a late-night stakeout and waited for the suspected thieves to return.
According to reports, four suspected burglars walked straight into the compound, where they were immediately surrounded, overpowered and restrained until police arrived.
But it wasn't the arrest that made the internet lose it. It was how they were restrained.
Video from the scene shows the four suspects wrapped so tightly in duct tape—from their shoulders almost all the way down to their ankles—that they couldn't walk.
Within hours, social media had unofficially renamed them "duct-tape bunnies," with many comparing the scene to a slapstick comedy rather than a real-life burglary.
The footage has since sparked a fierce online debate.
Some praised the homeowner, arguing that repeated complaints had allegedly gone unanswered and that desperate circumstances called for desperate measures.
Others said the public humiliation and detention crossed the line, arguing that catching suspects should remain the responsibility of law enforcement.
Police eventually arrived and took the four suspects into custody.
But by then, the internet had already decided what it would remember most.
Not the burglary. Not the arrest.
Just four alleged thieves... hopping around like oversized duct-tape bunnies.
