Rumours of Dr Yasmin Rashid’s death dismissed by family, jail authorities

LAHORE: Family members and jail authorities have rejected social media claims regarding the death of former Punjab health minister Dr Yasmin Rashid, describing the reports as false and baseless.

According to family sources, Dr Rashid is safe, in good health and remains incarcerated at Kot Lakhpat Jail.

The family urged the public to refrain from sharing unverified information, saying misinformation circulating on social media had caused unnecessary concern among relatives, supporters and well-wishers.

Jail authorities also denied the reports, confirming that the former minister is in custody at Kot Lakhpat Jail and that claims about her death are entirely unfounded.

The clarification came after posts alleging Dr Rashid's death spread widely across social media platforms, prompting confusion and speculation.

Authorities have advised the public to rely on verified information from official sources and avoid circulating unconfirmed claims online.
