Bus overturns near Nankana Sahib, injuring 30 passengers
A bus overturned near Nankana Sahib on Saturday night, leaving 30 passengers injured, including 21 who were shifted to hospital. The report also detailed separate incidents involving a fatality, rape allegations and a police encounter in Punjab.

TOBA TEK SINGH: Thirty passengers were injured when a bus overturned on the Lahore-Jaranwala Road near Khunda stop Mor in Nankana Sahib district on Saturday night. The accident was said to have occurred because of speeding.
Rescue 1122 shifted 21 critically injured passengers to the District Headquarters Hospital in Nankana Sahib, while nine others with minor injuries were treated at the scene. The bus was carrying mourners who were returning to Lahore after attending a majlis in Syedwala.
In a separate road accident near Bahoo Chowk in Jhang, a bus struck a motorcycle-rickshaw, injuring two young women. They were identified as Sajida Waris, 17, and Maria Ashraf, 26.
Murder, suicide and rape cases reported
A middle-aged man was found dead in his house in Chak 115 GB in Jaranwala tehsil on Sunday. In his first information report, complainant Sajid Iqbal said his 35-year-old brother, Abid Iqbal, lived alone and was found with his body tied with ropes. He alleged that unidentified people strangled him to death. The body was moved to the Jaranwala THQ Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
In Faisalabad, a 22-year-old man died by suicide near Abbaspur railway station on Sunday after jumping in front of a train. Thikriwala police identified him as Ehtasham and handed over the body to his parents.
In Sangla Hill tehsil of Nankana Sahib, police arrested a young man accused of raping a physically disabled girl in Chak 42 RB on Sunday. The complainant told police that the suspect forcibly entered his uncle’s house and raped his cousin, identified only as S.
In another case in Sheikhupura district, the father of a mentally challenged girl told Khanqa Dogran police that his daughter had gone to a grocery shop in Chak 11 RB, Dera Tailanwala, where three men allegedly lured her to the house of one of the accused and gang-raped her. Police said the suspects had been arrested.
Suspect killed in police encounter
An alleged gunman was killed in what police described as an encounter with Faisalabad’s Gulberg Police late on Saturday night. Police said SHO Rana Abdul Ghaffar and his team were near the Kamalabad graveyard when they stopped three men riding a motorcycle, after which the suspects opened fire.
Police claimed that one suspect was later found dead after being hit by gunfire from his two accomplices, who escaped. The deceased was identified as Ghulam Muhayyddin of Chak 55JB. Police said he was wanted in several cases involving robberies and firing at citizens who refused to pay extortion money.
