Boston forum hosts Governor Kathy Hochul for private policy roundtable

BOSTON: The World Affairs Council of Boston held a private luncheon roundtable on June 22, bringing together New York Governor Kathy Hochul and a group that included Democratic Party leaders, diplomats and civic figures for discussions on regional cooperation and international issues.

According to the council, the off-the-record session focused on economic links between states in the US Northeast, national security and civic participation. The gathering included representatives from government, diplomacy and the private sector.

The event was hosted by World Affairs Council of Boston Director Shahid Ahmed Khan. Those in attendance included former US ambassador to Spain and Andorra Alan Solomont, LTG Chris Gabrielli, Sarah Sibley, World Boston President Joe Haynes, World Boston CEO Gilbert Winn, Peter Teng, Ping Chen, Manzar and Mehreen Khudadad, and Hadiya Ahmed.

Khan said Governor Hochul's visit highlighted cooperation between New York and Massachusetts on shared issues.

"Governor Hochul's visit underscores the importance of partnership between New York and Massachusetts on the challenges we share, from economic growth to global security. Boston is a natural place for these conversations to happen," he said.
