Israeli traveller secretly visits Pakistan, calls it the best country in the world

An Israeli content creator who travelled across Pakistan while concealing his identity has called it the best country in the world, saying it surpassed more than 60 destinations he has visited.

Traveller Tal Dooreck made the remarks during an interview with Israeli media platform ILTV, where he repeatedly ranked Pakistan first for food, people, nature and hospitality.

After the interview went viral, Dooreck shared more details on Instagram, revealing that he travelled under the name "Talal" instead of Tal because he did not feel it was safe to disclose that his mother is Israeli or that he is Jewish.

"Pakistan is one of my favorite countries in the world, but while I was there, I couldn't tell people my mother is from Israel or that I'm Jewish, so I went by the name Talal instead of Tal," he wrote.

Despite hiding his identity, Dooreck said his experience completely challenged the image of Pakistan often portrayed internationally.

"Pakistanis are judged by headlines they didn't create, just like Israelis are, yet the people I met were some of the kindest and most welcoming I've ever encountered," he added.

During the interview, host Devo Klein repeatedly encouraged him to name different countries for categories such as best food, best scenery and best people.

Dooreck refused.

"I love Pakistani food. Best nature? Pakistan. I love Pakistan. My favorite country is Pakistan," he said.

He went on to describe Pakistan as unmatched in every major travel category. "Pakistan is literally the best country in the world for people, for food, for nature, for hospitality. It's a country that is seriously so misunderstood by headlines," he said.

One of the biggest reasons, according to Dooreck, was the generosity he experienced throughout his trip.

He claimed he was able to travel through Pakistan with virtually no money because locals regularly refused to accept payment. "I took motorbikes in Pakistan, and when you end the ride... they won't accept your money," he recalled.

He also urged people not to judge countries solely through politics or headlines. "If more of us met each other instead of judging each other from a distance, we'd realize we're far more similar than different," he wrote.

Following the video's circulation, many online questioned how an Israeli citizen entered Pakistan, given the absence of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Since Dooreck also holds US citizenship and was raised in Miami, it is widely believed he entered Pakistan using his American passport rather than an Israeli one.
