ISLAMABAD: Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Barrister Danyal Chaudhry on Saturday said Pakistan's foreign policy is yielding positive results internationally, expressing confidence that the country's improving economic trajectory will help achieve national targets and further ease inflationary pressures in the coming months.
Speaking to the state-run television channel, Chaudhry said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government inherited an economy facing the risk of default but had successfully steered the country away from crisis toward stability, recovery and renewed international confidence.
He said Pakistan is now firmly on the path of economic stabilisation, with key macroeconomic indicators showing consistent improvement and investor confidence gradually returning.
Highlighting the government's diplomatic initiatives, Chaudhry described Pakistan's foreign policy under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir as a significant shift that has restored the country's international engagement and diplomatic credibility.
He said the government's policies had helped place Pakistan on a course toward sustainable economic growth, with inflationary pressures gradually easing and overall economic conditions steadily improving.
The parliamentary secretary said expanding trade relations with Iran are expected to create new business opportunities, generate employment and stimulate economic activity across multiple sectors in the near future.
Referring to the federal budget, Chaudhry said it had been prepared with a long-term development strategy, prioritising key sectors including textiles, housing, exports, manufacturing, infrastructure, information technology and overseas remittances.
He said the budget incorporates clear targets aimed at ensuring sustainable economic growth, strengthening industrial activity and improving the country's overall economic outlook.
Expressing optimism about the future, Chaudhry said ongoing economic reforms, improved political and economic stability and stronger international partnerships would continue to produce positive results, adding that the coming months are expected to bring greater relief and prosperity for the people.
