Pakistan finish FIH Pro League campaign without a win after 7-0 loss to England

LONDON: Pakistan signed off from the FIH Pro League 2026 with a heavy 7-0 defeat against hosts England at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre on Saturday, ending the tournament without a single win.

England made an early breakthrough when Sam Ward converted a penalty corner in the ninth minute. The home side added a second late in the opening quarter through a field goal by Nicholas Bandurak to take firm control of the contest.

Pakistan’s backline put up resistance in the second quarter, but England extended their lead before the interval. Samuel Taylor converted England’s second penalty corner, making it 3-0 just before halftime.

The pattern continued after the break, with England striking again late in the third quarter. Samuel Hooper added the fourth goal in the 38th minute through another penalty corner.

England pressed harder in the final quarter and Bandurak scored his second goal of the match from a penalty corner in the 48th minute. A minute later, Zachary Wallace found the net from the spot, and Henry Croft completed the scoring with a field goal in the 52nd minute.

The result gave England their eighth win of the campaign and strengthened their hold on second place in the nine-team standings with 34 points, putting them four ahead of third-placed Australia.

For Pakistan, the defeat confirmed a winless end to the competition. They lost all 16 of their matches, playing each of the other eight teams twice, and finished at the bottom of the table with a negative goal difference of 57.
