Police book madrassa kitchen worker in rape case

SHAKARGARH: Police have registered a case after allegations that a minor student was assaulted at a madrassa in the Rangra area on the outskirts of Shakargarh, according to police.

The first information report was lodged on the complaint of the child’s father. Police said an investigation has been initiated and raids are under way to arrest the suspect named in the case.

According to the FIR, the allegations are against a member of the madrassa’s kitchen staff. The complaint states that the accused allegedly called the child to the kitchen on the pretext of asking him to cut vegetables.

The FIR further alleges that the suspect used a stick to threaten the boy by placing it on his neck before carrying out the alleged assault. The incident triggered concern and anger in the locality, police said.
